They say that good things come in threes, and that certainly seems to be the case for the cast of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” Three of the eight MomTok creators announced in the last 10 days that they are expecting.
Jen Affleck, Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley each shared photos with their families dressed in shades of white and cream ... and their baby bumps on full display.
Is it a coincidence? A pregnancy pact? A Mormon baby boom? We may have to wait until Season 2 to find out.
Jen Affleck
Jen Affleck, 25, was the first of the three cast members to announce her pregnancy. It's baby number three for Jen and husband Zac Affleck.
“I have a strong feeling it’s a girl,” Jen told People in a story that went live on Feb. 11. “I’ve dreamed about this little girl for a while now, and I truly believe she’s the one I’m carrying.”
The proud parents already have a boy and a girl at home: a 19-month-old son named Lucas and a 3-year-old daughter named Nora who were “beyond excited” to hear the news.
“I thought having two kids back-to-back was tough, but this has taken things to a whole new level,” she said. “With the stress of work, motherhood and the challenges that come with pregnancy, it’s been a lot. On top of that, I had some strong cravings and aversions — all I wanted was pho and limes with salt!”
Affleck wrote in a caption for her Instagram announcement: "We can’t wait to meet you. #july2"
Mikayla Matthews
Mikayla Matthews, 24, and her husband, Jace Terry, have three children: son Beckham, 7, and daughters Tommie, 3, and Haven, 5. She became a mom for the first time as a teenager.
“I had my first kid at 17. I didn’t even know what I liked to do anymore because I was just a mom. That’s what I did,” she told TODAY.com in September 2024.
Matthews posted an Instagram pregnancy announcement on Feb. 20 that read, “Thought I’d finally announce the next step on my healing journey. 🤍 Can’t wait to love on this baby,”
“It was definitely a surprise!” Matthews told People. “We were not planning or trying. I miss my period a lot with my health issues, so for me it’s normal to sometimes be off track.” She has been suffering from chronic eczema outbreaks since childhood.
“It’s so wild to me that we’ll be a family of six. I feel like it’s the Mormon in me coming out,” Matthews said.
“I’m surrounded by Mormon culture still and my husband’s siblings all have so many kids,” she continued. “They’re like, ‘Once you hit three kids, you can have 10 kids,’ That’s kind of the mindset I have."
Mayci Neeley
Mayci Neeley, 29, and husband Jacob Neeley have a blended family of two kids. Neeley is already mom to Hudson, 9. (His father was killed in a car accident.) She and her husband are also raising their daughter Harlow, 4.
On Feb. 21, Neeley posted a pregnancy announcement on social media along with the text: “Baby #3 is on the way and we couldn’t be happier!🥹”
Mayci has been public about her attempts to expand her family through IVF.
“My kids are so excited to have a sibling. They already fight over whose baby it is,” Neeley told People.
She said they would likely find out the baby’s gender in advance because “the kids will want to know.” She added, “My guess would be a girl, but my husband thinks a boy.”
