George Clooney's 7-year-old son, Alexander, loves Batman so much, the actor may just try to prevent him from seeing his infamous 1997 superhero flick "Batman & Robin."

“My son’s favorite hero is Batman. I’m like, ‘You know was Batman.’ He’s like, ‘Not really.’ I go, ‘You have no idea how right you are,'" the 63-year-old actor joked during a recent interview with The New York Times.

“If he knew that I was that Batman, he’d never have respect for me,” he added.

Clooney donned the Caped Crusader costume in the Joel Schumacher-directed film, which co-starred Chris O’Donnell as Robin and Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl. The film was a box-office bomb and a critical disaster.

In fact, Clooney was so embarrassed by "Batman & Robin," his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, told Variety in 2021 that he'd "forbidden" her from ever watching the movie.

Though his Batman performance may one day make his son cringe, George Clooney is proving to be a superhero dad in real life. The former "ER" star recently took Alexander and his twin sister, Ella, bowling.

“I haven’t been bowling in 30 years,” Clooney told the Times, laughing. “Oh my God! It’s an amazing thing, getting older, where you think you can still do stuff that you love.”

Still, Clooney hinted that parenting two little ones has been a lot of fun.

“We’re riding in the car to school and I make them listen to heavy metal because I just like it when they sing," he shared. "My daughter has fallen in love with tragic songs. She loves Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For?’ and Harry Nilsson’s ‘Without You.’”

"But they’re happy kids, so I’m really lucky," he added.

Though Clooney never pictured himself as a father, he now can't imagine life any other way. “I wasn’t really in the market for being a dad,” he said. “Then I met Amal and we fell in love. I have to say that, after that, everything made sense.”

In January, Clooney and his family arrived in New York City where he'll make his upcoming Broadway debut as broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow in a stage version of his 2005 movie “Good Night, and Good Luck." Like the film, the play follows Murrow and his team's fight against the paranoia and propaganda of McCarthyism.

The actor told GQ in August 2024 that fatherhood had made him scale back on his busy acting schedule in favor of "moderation." After "Good Night, and Good Luck," he told the publication, he intended to take a break from acting to be with his family.

“I won’t do another thing. I’m going to give myself time with my kids. I really enjoy driving them to school, and my wife and I are having a really wonderful time. So I don’t want to lose all of that,” he said.
