Arie Luyendyk Jr. says he made a snip decision when he scheduled a vasectomy without his wife Lauren Luyendyk’s say, and now, he’s had it reversed.

The former “Bachelor” stars revealed in a Feb. 20 video shared to their YouTube channel that they are on a journey to expand their family despite previously believing they were done having children. The video follows Luyendyk Jr. as he prepares for and undergoes the vasectomy reversal procedure.

In 2021, the now-43-year-old former Bachelor shared that he’d scheduled a vasectomy.

“We said that we were done having kids, like, a couple of years ago, but I think we’re gonna do it one more time,” Luyendyk explained at the top of the new video.

Since marrying in 2019, Luyendyk Jr. and Luyendyk have had three children: Alessi, 5, and 3-year-old twins Senna and Lux. Luyendyk Jr. explained in their vlog that after their twins were born, he felt strongly their family was complete.

“I got the vasectomy after the twins were born, and ever since then, I don’t know, I think I rushed it,” he explained. “Honestly, it’s more on me. I think having the twins was hard at first.”

Luyendyk laughed as she recalled how quickly the decision was made.

“If you don’t remember, six months into us having newborn twins, Arie scheduled his vasectomy without consulting me first,” Lauren said. “He’s like, ‘OK, it’s happening. Like, we got to do this.' And we did. I got on board.”

Luyendyk Jr. explained that now that his children are a little older, he’s found himself reconsidering his choice.

“All of our kids are, like, the best age right now. And I just felt like, ‘Dang it, I think we could do this again,’” he said, adding, “If we had a singleton, we could totally handle that.”

His change of heart came as a surprise to Luyendyk, who had already accepted that their family was complete. However, as they talked through the idea, she began warming up to the possibility of expanding their family once more.

“I’m getting there,” she said. “Ari is totally there.”

Luyendyk Jr. shared that since his vasectomy was done only two years ago, he is considered a strong candidate for a successful reversal.

The couple’s video also captured post-surgery moments, showing Luyendyk Jr. at home recovering while being cared for by his little ones.
